At our school, children’s personal and social development is something we truly value. We want every child to grow into a confident, thoughtful and resilient young person—and our PSHE curriculum plays a big part in that.
We now follow the Jigsaw PSHE Programme (2026 edition), a well‑structured, carefully sequenced scheme that brings PSHE to life through stories, characters and mindful learning. Children enjoy weekly Jigsaw lessons that feel calm, purposeful and age‑appropriate, helping them understand themselves and the world around them in a safe, supportive environment.
As the children move through the school, Jigsaw introduces new ideas gently and progressively. This includes learning about how their bodies work, growing up, and—when they are ready—human reproduction, all taught with correct scientific vocabulary. Everything is rooted in discussions about healthy relationships, family life, respect and kindness.
Children are encouraged to ask questions, and our teachers answer them sensitively and in ways that match the age and maturity of the class.
We know how important it is for families to feel informed. Before we teach lessons that cover changing bodies or reproduction, parents are invited to view the resources, see exactly how the content is presented and ask any questions. Teachers are always happy to meet if you’d like to talk through anything in more detail.
