Teaching Assistant 3
Little Common School is a large well resourced primary school on the outskirts of Bexhill.
We are a friendly and supportive school full of children who love to learn and an experienced staff team who enjoy sharing skills and providing an excellent education for our children.
We are looking for a skilled level 3 Teaching Assistant initially to support and develop children’s reading and phonics across Key Stages 1 and 2. This role may evolve over time to include other areas of support work.
The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering Read, Write, Inc. phonics and reading interventions, such as Core 5 and Personalised Learning for Reading to small groups and individuals. However, skills of proactivity , positivity and empathy are more important than previous experience.
A good level of literacy and English is essential.
You will be able to work independently to promote reading standards as well as working as part of a motivated, strong team, with training, support and guidance from leaders. As part of this role you will be expected to be a First Aider (training will be provided) and provide some pastoral support for vulnerable children, as needed.
You must be able to follow school policies and procedures for a consistent approach to support children's learning and school safety.
Working hours will be Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3.30pm with half an hour for lunch term time only.

This role is paid as Single Status Grade 4 points 9 (£18,426) - 10 (£18,795) pro rata to the hours and weeks worked.
