Gateway Communication System
What is School Gateway?
Gateway is a text and email service which allows parents and the school to communicate quickly and cost effectively via email, text and smartphone app.
All communication (including letters) at Little Common School are sent using Gateway*. It is therefore vital to register to ensure you receive information about school events, trips, clubs, parents' evenings etc.
But that’s not all….
Communication is just one of School Gateway’s applications. It is also used by our breakfast club, after school club and holiday club to allow parents / carers to pay for bookings.
Registration
School Gateway has a very simple registration process, using the email address and mobile number we hold for you on our information management system.
If these details have changed since your child started at Little Common School, our records may need updating to allow you to access the system and receive emails/texts.
Save money by downloading the School Gateway app
If you have an Android or iPhone, both you and the school can save money when you download the ‘School Gateway’ app from your app store (Android and iPhone).
Once downloaded, choose ‘new user’ and enter your email address and mobile phone number on the next screen.
If these match the details we hold, your registration will be successful and a PIN will be sent to your mobile phone by text, which will allow you to log in.
By doing this we can send you ‘app messages’ (avoiding the cost of texts) and you can message us back through the app for FREE.
If the registration fails, it is likely to be because the phone number/ email address we hold is out of date or missing.

Letting us know:
- your name
- your child's name
- preferred mobile number
- email address
and we will amend our details within 24 hours.
Registration using the School Gateway website
Don’t have a smartphone….no problem!
To register and check that we have the correct details, please go to the website https://login.schoolgateway.com and select ‘new user’.
If the registration fails, it is likely to be because the phone number/ email address we hold is out of date or missing. Please therefore send us an email to info@littlecommon.e-sussex.sch.uk.
Letting us know:
- your name
- your child's name
- preferred mobile number
- email address
and we will amend our details within 24 hours
Once registered you will receive text messages from the school, rather than ‘app messages’.
*paper copies of letters will still be available by request from the school office.
