Year 6 VE Day Party

This week, Year 6 children invited members of the local community to join them for a party to celebrate ‘VE Day’ and the end of their WW2 topic. Letters were sent to the Royal British Legion and other local community groups. On the day, the children all came to school dressed in their evacuee outfits, complete with name tags and gas mask boxes and presented some of their artwork and writing.

During the afternoon, the pupils had the opportunity to listen to stories and experiences of their guests and ate authentic 1940’s party food before performing a well-rehearsed Lindy Hop to a captive audience.

Thank you  for all the support from parents with the children’s outfits, the children, staff and our visitors for ensuring the success of this event.
