Sports Awards for Little Common

Little Common are delighted to have been awarded two awards for our PE and Sport provision. Mr Moir, Head of St Leonards Academy who ran the sports partnership came to present this to us.

We have achieved a Platinum Plus Quality Start Award for the PE and Sport provision that we provide for our Key Stage 1 and Foundation pupils. The validators of the award said ‘The PE and Sport provision at Little Common was the best they had ever seen.’ We are also very proud to have received the School Games GOLD award for the fourth year running for PE and Sport at Key Stage 2.

To achieve the awards, we ensured that children took part in competitions, festivals and attended extra - curricular clubs. We had over 138 children leading in sport. We developed staff CPD and worked with families to promote healthy and active lifestyles. 

Last year, 94% of children were active including 100% of children from Key Stage 1. 756 children attended 48 different competitions and festivals. We also ran 32 different sport clubs. 

We are extremely proud to have received these two awards. To know that the PE and Sport provision we provide for all our pupils and their families at Little Common is seen as outstanding is a fantastic achievement.
