Active Primary School of the Year
We are delighted and proud to have won Active Primary School of the Year at the Sussex Sports Awards.
On Friday evening, we attended the prestigious sports awards, hosted by GB Olympian Kris Akabusi and BBC radio presenter Danny Pike. The sports awards celebrate Sussex sport and physical activity and the phenomenal heroines and heroes who have contributed at all levels, across all walks of life.
Little Common were nominated and chosen as finalists against two other schools from across Sussex. The awards received over 70 nominations in this category.
Little Common won the award for their exceptional provision of PE, sport and physical activity. This includes how we have worked to inspire and engage all pupils and their families to be physically active for 60 minutes every day.
The Judges commended us on our outstanding PE curriculum and diverse programme of extra – curricular activities which target all groups of children. As well as displaying our commitment to the continual improvement of PE training opportunities for all staff and raising the profile of PE and sport for all. We were also awarded for our effective and sustainable use of the PE and Sport Premium. Thank you to all our pupils and their families for your continued support with PE and sport.
We are looking forward to another successful year of fun activities and sport throughout the school.
