E-Safety
At school we often use the Internet for research and increasingly we are using it as a tool for creating and presenting work. This Learning Platform is an example of how the Internet has become more and more interactive.
Many of our children are used to using the Internet at school and at home and I'm sure that many of them would say that they use it more often than their parents. This section of our website is designed to give information and advice to parent's so that they can help their children use the Internet responsibly and safely.
The Home Office have produced a leaflet entitled "Keep Your Child Safe on the Internet" and it can be downloaded by clicking here.
More links to e-safety websites will be posted below.
If you have any questions or comments regarding e-safety and your child's use of the Internet then please use the Parent's Forum
We are aware that some children are using sites such as Bebo and Facebook to make contact with their friends outside of school.
Officially these sites require users to be 13 before they sign up, although it is easy for children to enter false information. As part of our new PSHE and ICT curriculum we will be addressing these issues with the children and teaching them to act responsibly when using the Internet.
Bebo has a page about e-safety hidden away - http://www.bebo.com/Safety.jsp
as does Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/safety/
